Our consignors have entrusted us with a truly unique collection of curated art featuring masterful work from prominent artists. Two outstanding works by world renowned artist and former Salem, VA resident Walter Biggs highlight the group. Also featured are bronze sculptures by recognized names such as Romain (Erté) De Tirtoff, Hungarian Holocaust survivor Alfred Tibor, and American sculptor Bill Keating. These works are investments that will stand the test of time.

Original Oil Painting By Walter Biggs
Biggs, Walter (1886-1968), New York/Virginia. Oil on canvas of two figures, young woman in ball gown standing within doorway with fanlight, man in dark waistcoat with top hat and cane in hand bending to kiss her hand. Wrought iron fence detail in foregrounds. Shades of blue and green predominant. Soiled, with heavy varnish layer, possible minor inpaint. Biggs was a member of the National Academy of Design, the American Watercolor Society, the Salmagundi Club, and Allied Artists of America. He was also named to the Illustrators Society Hall of Fame. Biggs studied with William Merritt Chase at the New York School of Art, and was a roommate with noted artist George Bellows at the Ashcan School of painting in New York, where they studied under founder Robert Henri.
